Hello. We are considering taking an Alaskan cruise using Holland America cruise line. One of the stops on the itinerary is Icy Strait Point. The port time is 5:30 PM - 10PM. For those that have have been there, is there anything to do in Icy Strait Point in the evening?? I'm not understanding why they would arrive so late and only stay 4.5hrs. My husband thinks it's a waste of a stop. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I am planning our first cruise with Princess Cruise Line and our first time to Alaska and I am stumped. I have two questions.

1. My plan is to go some time between June and September in order to see the salmon run. How likely am I to actually see the salmon run if the ports are Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan? I'm wondering if my expectations are too high.

2. AND MOST IMPORTANT: GLACIER BAY NATIONAL PARK vs. ENDICOTT ARM and DAWES GLACIER. Is there a significant difference? Why should I choose one over the other?
