My girlfriend and I track her cycle with flo. I know it's not fully accurate but we had unprotected sex when she was on her first day of ovulation according to the app and we got worried so we decided she should take the pill.

around a week after taking the pill she started bleeding pretty heavily. the blood was dark red and it's been continuing for the past 9 days. although the flow of the blood got slower gradually she texted me this morning and told me the bleeding got heavier again.

what could this mean? we're already looking into going to a clinic but most of them are full so any help would be much appreciated.
