When do you sell? Hold forever until needed?
Hey all,
I have a chunk invested in vanguard ETFs ISA as my main savings.
I bought 9k of Amazon stock 2 years ago, sold for 13.5k, and then diversified into some individual stocks. I picked stocks based on a few factors, some for their dividend held (BMW, VW, legal and general (since sold l&g as was up more than expected, will look to buy back when goes down a bit), some for their potential upswing, and perceived value. I am still very new to this, only been investing about 2 years and am by no means an expert.
I was wondering what you all consider to be the "sell now" point for individual stocks?
Do you hold forever, playing the long game?
Do you have a set % profit, i.e. once stock goes up 20%, sell?
I don't really know what I'm doing if I'm totally honest, I know when I want to sell some, but others I don't know when would be good to sell, should I take a short quick profit, should you wait for an even higher peak?
I understand a lot will come down to individual stocks and their projections etc, just want to know how you all treat it?
