Looking for Accommodation - Running out of time
Hi! Hope everyone's doing well!
I'm a foreign exchange student coming in from Scotland to do a semester at Umea university, and I'm looking for accommodation during my time there (September 1st to December/January depending on the semester times). I've been looking for accommodation for a good few weeks now but I've found nothing so far, and it's getting scarily close to my flight date. I was just looking for general advice on where I could search for more options for?
So far I've checked these places:
- Looked on Studentbostad i Umeå (Facebook group)
- Heimstaden - can only see two remaining options and both of them start in November, which is two months after my semester starts
- Bostaden - Queue times have grown too long, and everything I apply for gets taken by other people very quickly
- Direct through Umea university - I'm not holding my breath, because I had to join the queue quite late (problems at my home university)
- Qasa - Literally messaged every single person selling any furnished apartment in Umea for a while now, nothing yet
Does anyone have any advice about what I should do at this point? I'm getting really stressed now that I haven't got anything even though I've been looking since June.
If anyone is/knows someone who's looking for a roommate or tenant there, please let me know!
