Belt buckle help

Hi everyone. When it comes to the prong that’s goes inside the belt holes, should I make it curved like in the second picture or should I leave it flat and let the bench jeweller bend it and “wrap it around the the bar in the buckle? Thanks

Flow along a surface help

Hi everyone. I’m recreating the belt buckle (image on the right) I’m trying to get the 3 flower like designs to flow along the buckle but I’m not quite sure how to do it. I tried flow along surface but it’s a bit messy. Is there any other way I can do it? Also if you’ve made a belt buckle before on CAD I would appreciate any tips. Thanks!

How do I get CAD clients?

Hi everyone! I’ve become a lot more confident with what I can do on CAD and want to get clients but how do I go about marketing myself? I’m based in London. Do freelance platforms even work? Most jewellers already have their “CAD guy” so how would I go about putting myself out there? Is anyone a CAD designer and willing to share their story on how they got their clients? Thank you!!

925 Silver Side Release Buckle

Hi everyone, I’m interested in making a side release buckle like this but in 925 Silver. Anything I should be wary about before making it, and can anyone guide me as to where I can buy an stl file that looks similar to the bottom buckle, as it looks like it’s got springs? Thank you!!

NEED CAD HELP (BOOLEAN)

Hi everyone, I’m making this tulip engagement ring and I love how it looks so far and I’m basically finished just need to Boolean union everything together but nothing is working !! Because the petals start and end at the same points Boolean union just keeps failing and saying intersection error. Same thing for the shank that blends into the petals. I’ve tried Boolean split doesn’t work either. I’ve tried intersecting then using the curve to merge faces together, but even that’s not working, any ideas? I know I can take the shortcut/rogue DIY way of somehow merging them but I want to learn how to do it the proper way. Thanks

Advice for getting a job in the industry

Hey everyone! Quick intro, I’m London based, new to the industry, taught myself CAD and have become very confident with it and have been fortunate enough to make CAD designs for clients as well as custom jewellery.

Now I want to get a job in the industry and learn so much from people that have been in it for a long time. I’m not finding many job postings recently so any advice on what I should do?? Thank you!!

Hey everyone!! How would you go about making heart shaped prongs on cad? My opinion would be to make standard circles but then edit the top bit to have that crease, and then the bench jeweller can shape the prong to be pointy after setting it. What do you think, thanks!!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to remake this ring on CAD but was wondering what does everyone think the diameter of the pipe for the petals will be to achieve a design like this and to also make it as structurally secure as possible?? Thanks!!
