Is using Syncthing really risky?
I'd like to use Syncthing to sync SP between my computer and my phone, since it avoids the need for an intermediary server and is free.
But the LocalFile option is marked as “(experimental & deprecated)” and includes the following warning: “Warning: Do not use file syncing tools like Syncthing, Resilio, or similar to sync this folder between devices — they will cause data corruption and conflicts. For multi-device sync, use SuperSync, Nextcloud, or Dropbox instead.”
Despite this discussion, which doesn’t actually mention “deprecated”.
Do you use Syncthing for synchronization? Does it work well, or is the warning accurate? Do you have any good practices to share? Do you know if the option is likely to be removed in the future?
