Apply for grants without double dipping?
Hello everyone, I'm the new treasurer for the friends of the library group at my local library. The entire board turned over to new people in the last few months, so we're figuring alot of stuff out again on our own. I want to apply for grants from local businesses/banks to fund programs and projects, but I'm not sure about the protocol of applying at multiple places at once. To be more specific, we want to get funding for a sensory play area at the library. The banks that I'm looking at applying for a grant from have a process where you apply and then their charity board meets to discuss approving the grants every two or three months. Am I allowed to apply for a grant for the same project from two different organizations? I don't want to end up in a situation where I wait three months just to have the grant be denied, and then have to wait another few months to try again. But I also don't want to get into any trouble by double dipping/misusing appropriated funds if both organizations approve the grant.
