Looking for Speed Difference Estimate, Laptop 5070 vs Desktop 5080 via TB4
Heya,
I am looking for someone who can maybe chip in with some knowledge about performance metrics. I have been given a Lenovo Yoga 9i 16" with an Ultra 9 285H, Laptop 5070, and 64GB RAM for work. Its equipped with: 2 x USB-C (Thunderbolt™ 4/USB4 40 Gbit/s) with Power Delivery 3.0 and DisplayPort 2.1
For my 32:9 Monitor (5120x1440), the Laptop 5070 is still struggling with some Games, i.e. Sims, so I was thinking about getting a 5080 with a TB4 Dock. I tried to read up on it but only did find guesstimates.
Does somebody know what performance increase I could expect from a setup like that ?
In a Desktop Environment the 5080 is roughly 46% faster compared to the Laptop 5070, but the topic of PCIe Lanes bottleneck seems to be the biggest topic.
