Question About Breaking Into Epic Consulting After First Implementation

FTE here nearing the end of my first large Epic implementation as a team lead. I’ve been an analyst about 6 years, mostly Ambulatory with a few specialty certs.

Honestly didn’t expect to enjoy implementation work this much, but I really like the pace and pressure compared to normal operational/support work. It got me wondering if people actually build long-term consulting careers mostly around new installs/go-lives and major implementations.

Couple questions for people already consulting:

Is implementation-focused consulting a realistic long-term path?

Does leading part of an implementation as an FTE actually help much when trying to break into consulting?

With my background, is $90–100/hr realistic these days or is that high without prior consulting experience?

Currently around $130k as an FTE team lead for context.
