Recently went back to the gym where I spent so much of my childhood — swimming lessons, then working out as a teenager. The locker room was such a naked place, not so much today anymore. Around 25 years ago it was all open showers.
Over the years, I’ve chatted to a lot of people on here. Most conversations are pretty low-effort, and plenty of people eventually ghost. That’s just the way these things go.
But it’s still sad when you genuinely click with someone, have great conversations, sometimes for many months and then the moment comes to actually meet and you show your face… they suddenly disappear after or there is just a slow fade out until everything ends. No fights or any disagreements even.
I think sometimes people build a certain picture of you in their head. They imagine what you look like, and when reality doesn’t quite match that picture, they quietly take the road.
It’s just disappointing when someone seems to like you as a friend(not a boyfriend or girlfriend) until they see what you actually look like. I’d rather someone be honest than simply disappear without a word. Anyone else experience that?
