Hello, I’ve got a 6th generation iPod Classic and this cheap dual SD adapter. The memory card I put in it was formatted to FAT32, but when I connected the adapter, reconnected the battery, and plugged it into my computer, I got a red circle with an “X” in the middle. Is there anything I can do to fix it before I decide to buy a new one?
Is it worth buying a 6th gen iPod Classic for around $50 with a dead hard drive? The seller says all the buttons work, the screen is fine, and it comes with a cable, an SD card adapter, and a 3000mAh battery. The hard drive is dead.
One thing the seller mentioned is: “I opened the iPod to mod it but couldn’t get past the red circle.” I don’t really understand what that means or if it’s something important to worry about.
If I buy it, this would also be my first time opening and repairing/modding an iPod, so I don't know if is hard to replace battery and hard drive.
I found an auction for a 5th Gen iPod Classic (30GB) that I'm considering buying as a repair project. Since it's currently not working, I wanted to check what would be a fair maximum price to pay for it. Here is the description from the seller:
Issue description: The iPod is stuck in a "logo loop" whenever it's connected to a charger or a computer. Due to this fault, the device is non-functional.
Condition: Screen: Intact, no spots or cracks. Buttons & Click Wheel: Physically in excellent condition.
What do you guys think is the most I should bid for this?
