Rippledit - AST usage tracer for React/TS codebases (looking for early testers/feedback)
Hey everyone! Working in large React/TypeScript projects, modifying a shared component or utility often creates unexpected breakages across unrelated pages. To solve this blast-radius problem before committing, I built Rippledit.
What Rippledit Does:
- AST-Powered Dependency Tracing: Analyzes your code's Abstract Syntax Tree in real time across the entire codebase to map direct and indirect consumers.
- In-Editor Lens: Displays an inline tag right above each component/hook: "Modifying this affects X files".
- Interactive Impact Overlay: Clicking the indicator reveals an interactive modal showing the exact downstream files, imported props, and line numbers affected by your change.
- Pre-Commit Confidence: Lets you verify the ripple effect of interface or logic changes without relying solely on test suites or runtime surprises.
What I Need Feedback On:
- How do you currently track blast radius in your monorepo/large codebase?
- Is the in-editor lens smooth and unobtrusive, or does it clutter your workflow?
Looking for React/TS engineers building medium-to-large apps to test it out—drop a comment or DM and tell me what sucks!
