The AI problem...

I've seen a lot of discussion about AI on this site and it's got me a little worried. People talk about their ability to recognize AI and how they often drop the stories after figuring that out, based on nothing but opinion, and I completely understand that. I would probably do the same thing if I knew to recognize it, especially since it is such a big problem on RR right now.
However, what worries me is that the things they seek to figure it out. Among other things, they talk about how whenever they see any poetic descriptions of things, it must be AI.
Here is were my worry kicks in since I like to do poetic descriptions of things every now and then, especially if they are clear cut impactful moments. It's not too often, but every couple chapters I will do it, and now I worry that people will think my story AI just because of that.
I haven't been accused of anything yet, as my story is very small, but it is a worry I have.
I don't use any AI, not even for grammar checking (which tbh I find fine when others use it, I just don't like doing it myself), and that will I guess be obvious since I am not a native english speaker.
I guess my question is, should I (or anyone in a similiar situatuon) lower my descriptive prose in order to avoid AI accusations and should I be wary of not writing anything people might find AI-like?

I actually still enjoy writing, despite my fears.

I have always enjoyed writing when doing it as just a thing I do whenever I have time, but recently I decided to release my first story to the public and uploaded it on royal road. The biggest reason I dreaded doing that is the fact I usually have a problem with my hobbies becoming something I 'have' to do rather than 'want' to. Every time that would happen I quickly started hating my hobby which once upon a time was an outlet. And it would always happen quite quickly, usually less than a week before I start getting physically sick.
And before you say 'oh, just write when you want to and then upload to RR whenever you want to.' I understand you, but I have a professional deformation that whenever I do something I dive head first and just give it all I possibly can.

So I was very worried the same thing will happen with writing, especially reading reddit posts and forums that talk about the same thing happening to them, getting obsessed with stats and viewership and starting to enjoy that rather than writing.

But I am happy to say that I still enjoy writing. A lot. Even more, in fact.
I do keep on checking the stats multiple times a day and counting views, but I feel it to be normal when just starting out with something.

I know this is reddit so most people will just say 'who cares bro, not like you can actually write, just chill.', but I wanted to share my happiness about this, and I hope this happiness finds you as well.

Hello there, new writer here and this is a question for both readers and writers of the platform. What have you noticed works best in a blurb? What are some must have's and what are the eye drawing things? Sorry if it's a bit of a dumb question, but legit curious lol.

Just wanted to promote my dirst story! If anyone reads it I would love to recieve some constructive criticism, harsh as it might be. Rip into me. I also have 10 unreleased chapters pre-written so if you do enjoy it, don't be afraid of me abandoning it any time soon.

Here is the blurb:

In the Kafiaryn Empire, children are taken from their families, stripped of their names, and forged into weapons for the throne. They are called Devshar. They do not dream. They do not choose. They do not question.

Ryn has never questioned anything in his life.

But when the empire's youngest prince, a man quietly planning to burn everything down, pulls Ryn from the ranks and hands him a choice for the first time, something long buried begins to wake. Because Ryn is not just a soldier. Somewhere beneath the indoctrination, beneath the scars, there is something the empire tried very hard to make sure he would never become.

An Auruchemist.

And not just any kind.

Meanwhile, a forbidden secret buried at the heart of the church is beginning to surface. The history the empire built itself on is a lie. And an ancient prophecy, one that powerful people have been dying to keep hidden, suggests the world is about to change whether it wants to or not.

What to expect: A dual protagonist epic fantasy with Ottoman-inspired worldbuilding, morally complex characters, and a slow-burn conspiracy that rewards patient readers. This is a character-driven story with genuine thematic depth rather than rapid power progression. If you enjoy stories that make you think as much as they make you feel, this one is for you.

Current schedule: Chapter a day

Thinking about which cover I should be using? Right now I am using the first one (the slash), but I am interested in thoughts any of you might have.

For context: The story is an epic fantasy with a hard magic system with a dual protagnoist/pov storyline with one being a prince dreaming of revolution and one being a brainwashed soldier trying to understand what it means to be human, have dreams and enjoy life.

Hello!

I am a new writer on Royal Road and I am legitimately interested in how does a new writer with no following get people to do swaps with? Most of the time when I see someone it's looking for a specific vibe with a specific minimum follower count.

Does anyone have any good ideas on the best swaps as a nobody?
