Edit 2: I now know definitively that she is female. She is very friendly. And she likes to hang out by this rain gutter. I think I’ll name her.

I’ve got a couple elderberry bushes that are maybe five years old and about 10 feet apart, and they seem to only grow in one direction, though they get direct light through the middle of day and afternoon. Only one has ever flowered, and it only produces sparse flowers and sparser berries. They both have a sort of copper tint to some of their leaves, so I wonder if they’re sick or if something is attacking them. Can you give me some tips to make them healthier in future summers?

Not sure that these pictures are clear enough, but gotta try try. Two spiders. One is double size of the other about a half inch large. They don’t look to have very many markings but the ones that they do have are white dot along your body. Otherwise they’re completely black.
