Concolor Zebra Haworthia & Black Gem Aloe?
I got these 2 as party favors some years ago, each was 1 tiny plant in a tiny 1 inch pot. As the title says I'm quite sure they are Haworthia attenuata 'Concolor' & Alworthia 'Black Gem'(Haworthia/Aloe hybrid). Does everyone agree?
Next, I've looked all over for info about when to repot Black Gem and all signs point towards waiting until the pups fill out the pot and cover the entire soil surface. Most info says wait until the pups are growing out of the entire surface as opposed to mine that is covering the surface due the pups leaning out over the last inch of soil surface. Does anyone let theirs fill the entire soil surface before repotting, or do you just repot when you feel like it, Or do most people prefer to split pups and grow new plants with them?
How do you treat either if they get to filling their pots like these? Any information and discussion about their id, repotting, soil ingredients, or anything at all!
Edit: The Black Gem in Pic 2 started out as a single mother, as it got bigger it had large bottom leaves that spanned the width of the pot and then some, several months ago as the pups crowded it more and more, it lost its original lower leaves and started blending into the crowd. Also there's no roots visible out of the drainage hole, is that because its not overcrowded or is it possibly the hight of its pot.
