Today I had a vendor email me asking if we'd received their invoice and I knew we had because I'd seen it at some point but I had no idea where it'd ended up.

I searched my inbox then accounting's inbox then slack because somebody said they remembered talking about it there but turns out it had been forwarded to someone for approval almost two weeks ago and sat there with no purpose and that wasn't even the only one there were a couple more where everyone thought someone else had already dealt with it.

Business is getting bigger I get it but we're not processing hundreds of invoices a day or anything crazy but I don't know why it seems like we've reached the point where email isn't keeping up anymore like every invoice seems to start a different thread with different people copied in.

Is this normal?
