I’m a bit new to this so this might be a stupid question. I’m on Octopus on a low rate evening tariff. So I was considering buying a fairly large battery with a micro inverter and plugging in a few solar panels to charge it during the day and charging it on the cheap tariff overnight. Then having it discharge onto the house electrical supply during the day. I know I’ll only get 800w into the house but I assume that if I calculate it right and get the right battery size that I can get mostly free or cheap electricity during the day if I do this. Is this a good strategy and has anyone got any tips on how to do this and the calculations I need to do? Thanks for your help!
