I (30F) will be moving back in with my parents for a time for a few reasons. I have been using cloth pads for years, and usually keep the soiled ones in a bucket with a lid so it's not as gross if someone else had to use my bathroom. I usually give them each a good rinse in soapy water and then give them a deep wash in the washing machine.

I will now be sharing a bathroom with other people, and I'm sure knowing that a bucket of bloody rags sits in the bathroom is more than a bit gross (I couldn't really stand the sight of it either, hence bucket with lid).

Does any other menstruating person sharing a bathroom with others have recommendations on how to be more discreet with your cloth pads? I'm thinking instead of soaking them I'll just rinse them then and there on the spot, in the sink, and disinfect the area afterwards.

I really don't want to go back to disposable.
