CEBL Attendance

The 2024 season marked an all-time peak for the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL), driven by massive stadium openers, while the 2025 and 2026 seasons saw a slight cooling trend and stabilization. The total single-game league-wide record was set in 2024 with 12,327 fans at the Scotiabank Saddledome.

League-Wide Attendance Trends

2024 Peak: Average league-wide single-game regular season attendance hit 3,259 fans. This was fueled by a 41% surge early in the season compared to previous years.
2025 Consolidation: The league stabilized its numbers, matching high season-ticket baselines across key western markets.
2026 Adjustment: Mid-season records show a modest pullback, with total announced attendees dipping about 10% compared to 2025 paces.

CEBL 2.0

We are about half way through the first season of the CEBL 2.0. Here are some facts using data from the announced crowds of each game on the CEBL web site:

Overall, the league is down ~20,000 announced attendees which is 10% below 2025.

Winnipeg and Vancouver's announced attendance makes up 38% of the overall CEBL total.

Four teams have larger announced attendance when compared to the same number of home games in 2025: Scarborough +16%, Brampton +8%, Calgary +3%, Vancouver +1%. Edmonton is basically unchanged from 2025.

After 5 home games, Winnipeg is down over 5,000 fans total (-13% compared to 2025). Others: Montreal -22%, Ottawa -25%, Niagara -28%, Saskatchewan -30%.

In some instances, announced crowds cam include complementary tickets.

YouTube and Gem viewership rarely is greater than 150-200 views. CEBL+ data is not readily available.

Unless the news item was missed, there have been no new National sponsorship deals of note announced.

I understand a new Commissioner was named to replace Mike Morreale however his name rarely if ever is in the news or on socials.
