I upgraded a Kobo Touch to Aura HD, which has the same screen and I've noticed that the black contrast seems a lot lighter. I thought it was font settings but I've noticed it on photos too.

The Touch doesn't have a front light and I've read that the light guide layer decreases the screen contrast. Is this normal?

I was in a British charity shop today when I saw a boxed, new manual coffee grinder on the shelf for £3. Assuming a cheap Amazon return, I bought it.

When I opened the box, I realised it was the 1ZPRESSO X-ULTRA. Just tried it, amazing for Aeropress and does espresso as well!
