Typed a legitimate website but got redirected

I was trying to visit hir.harvard.edu (Harvard International Review), but every time I click it, I'm redirected to a completely different website.

At first I assumed my computer had adware or malware, so I tried pretty much every troubleshooting step I could find, such as removing all browser extensions, clearing cookies and site data, and clearing the browser cache.

The redirect still happens.

I also came across this article from PCrisk about "Harvard.edu ClickFix malware" (https://www.pcrisk.com/removal-guides/35203-harvardedu-clickfix-malware) but I'm not sure whether it's describing the same issue I'm seeing or something different.

Could this be a problem with the website itself rather than my computer? Has anyone else recently experienced redirects from hir.harvard.edu?

I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Rental Dispute

Hey all,

I'm looking for advice on what legal grounds I should rely on when negotiating with my property manager, and whether I would have a reasonable chance if this ends up at the Tenancy Tribunal.

My partner and I are new to New Zealand and signed a fixed-term tenancy.

Since moving in, we've experienced several serious issues:

- Very cold and damp living conditions. Although the property passed a Healthy Homes assessment, the assessment appears to have been completed to only the minimum required standard. It was carried out on the same day the tenancy agreement was signed, after we had already paid the bond and first week's rent to secure the property, so it felt very rushed. In practice, the house is extremely difficult to keep warm. We had to buy a dehumidifier and run it continuously just to keep the room dry enough to live in. Despite this, the house still feels cold and damp, and both of us have developed respiratory symptoms since moving in.

- Severe ant infestation. We reported the issue immediately. A pest control company inspected the property and told us the infestation is severe and would take at least two weeks to treat. The ants are throughout the kitchen (including the ceiling), the laundry, and have spread to other rooms. We have photos and videos documenting the infestation.

- Before the tenancy agreement and Healthy Homes documentation were completed, we were asked to pay the bond and first week's rent to secure the property. As newcomers to New Zealand, we didn't know whether this was permitted. I've since read that there are rules around when tenants can be required to make payments and what documents must be provided first, but I'm not sure whether what happened in our case would amount to a breach or whether it would have any impact on ending the tenancy.

We have reported these issues repeatedly by email, text, and phone, but the property has remained in this condition. After inspecting the property, the pest control technician advised that the infestation is very severe and would take at least two weeks to treat. The question is whether we should continue paying rent if we've already decided to move out because we believe the property is not habitable. We're concerned that continuing to pay rent means paying for a home we don't feel we can safely or reasonably live in. But we also don't want to put ourselves in a worse legal position if withholding rent could affect our case at the Tenancy Tribunal. What would be the best approach?

I'd really appreciate any advice, especially from anyone familiar with the Residential Tenancies Act or who has been through the Tenancy Tribunal.

Recommendation for probiotic supplements

I used to take Optibac in the UK and found it worked well for me. Are there any similar probiotic supplements available in New Zealand?

I'm specifically after probiotic recommendations rather than suggestions to get probiotics from natural foods.

Need advice for rental application

Kia ora, we recently moved here for work. This is our first time renting in NZ, so we're still learning how the process works.

We applied for a rental property but weren't selected. We completed the application, provided ID, references, as well as a copy of the employment contract. Are there any other documents or information that landlords/property managers typically find helpful? For example, proof of savings?

Right now it feels a bit like submitting everything into a black box and then just getting a rejection with no feedback. It's been a little frustrating, so I'd appreciate any advice from people who went through the rental process as first-time renters with no local rental history (we've rented in several European countries and the US, have always paid rent on time, and have taken good care of the properties we've lived in).

Thanks!
