Brothers wedding
So I’m 99% sure her brother’s wedding is today, although there’s a chance it could be next weekend. But I genuinely keep wondering if she’s even going to be there.
I’ve known their family for a LONG time, and she has always absolutely loved her brother. They’ve always been super close, and I truly believe that if this were completely HER decision, there wouldn’t even be a question she would be there. She’s said herself that she wants to go, and knowing her, I know how important something like this would normally be to her.
I fully believe he’ll try to talk her out of going for God knows what reason. It honestly feels like he will do anything to make her unhappy. The second he realizes something makes her happy, gives her something to look forward to, or means a lot to her, somehow there’s always a problem with it. He’ll make something up, create some kind of issue, or give her a reason why she “shouldn’t” go, and then she’ll end up covering for him and making it sound like it was her own decision.
He constantly says she has “free will,” but from everything I’ve seen, she really doesn’t. Having free will means being able to make your own choices without worrying about how someone is going to react, punish you, guilt you, or make your life miserable afterward. And they’ll see this and he’ll mention “she does have free will, she’s not controlled etc.” but no Abigail this isn’t you and this isn’t normal. Yes someone could come “save her” but you can’t save one who’s been brainwashed to believe his ways. And that’s exactly what she is, brainwashed.
And that’s the part that completely breaks my heart. This is NOT her at all. This isn’t the person I’ve known for all these years. She loves her family, she loves her brother, and I know deep down she wants to be there for such a huge moment in his life. Watching her slowly miss out on things and distance herself from people and moments that used to mean everything to her is just heartbreaking.
