Iptv vpn
I’m currently running Jellyfin on my home server for regular movies and TV shows, and I’m considering adding IPTV. I’m trying to figure out the cleanest way to route IPTV traffic through a VPN without messing up normal Jellyfin traffic.
Would it be better to add IPTV directly into Jellyfin and put Jellyfin behind a VPN, or would that cause problems with local/remote Jellyfin streaming, metadata, and incoming/outgoing connections?
My thought is that it may be better to run IPTV through a separate container or app, put only that container behind a VPN, and leave Jellyfin normal. Then Jellyfin could either pull from that local proxy, or I could use a completely separate IPTV player.
For people who have done this, what’s the recommended setup? Should IPTV be handled through Jellyfin directly, through an IPTV proxy container, or through a separate player/app with only that traffic routed over VPN?
