MLS program survival tips and recommended supplies

Hello,

Like the title says I wanted to know any survival tips or recommended supplies not mentioned in orientation. Maybe tips like where did you guys get the textbooks for free, good study methods. Or supplies that might be overlooked, or supplies that makes being in a MLS program easier.

Thanks!!!

MLS admission likely hood no and how to deal with not getting in

Hellooo!!!

So I completed my application into the MLS program for my university. I heard that they have about 24-26, (up to 30 seats if the application pool is really good supposedly and about 50 people apply each cycle), how would you guys rate my chance of getting in?

overall gpa: 3.39
Science gpa: 3.1-2
I also submitted three recommendations letters that were from two lab professors (one doctorate and one doctoral student) and one from my supervisor at my job.
I know in the application it asked us to tell them extra info about ourselves so I stated I had a job while working etc… I specifically highlighted how I wanted to work in a field that helped with the diagnostic process of “what’s behind the scenes”.

Anyways, if anyone relates to this, how did you deal with the process of not getting accepted? Might sound cheesy, but this degree is really calling my name and I don’t think I’d be able to live with myself if I don’t pursue this. I was thinking of just retaking a few classes next semester if I don’t make it in, and then reapplying.

Do you guys think recommendation letters really make a difference? I’m kinda discouraged because of my gpa and how to balance that with work life 😭
