As the title says it's my first time building a tufting frame (and also first time ever tufting 🤣). Didn't fancy spending £150+ on a metal frame and saw it looked easy enough to do yourself so thought why not! Gun arrives tomorrow and I'm packed up with all the bits I need to get going 😅 do you think this will work as intended? Also any newbie tips are EXTREMELY appreciated, this was my 3am adhd hyperfixation purchase and I'm so ready to go all in 🔥🤣

As the title says, I just can't get a yield above 13ish% which I'm not overly happy with 🤦

I've tried pressing 2 strains (orange cream local grown, kush breath Canadian import) and both have been the same sort of yield around the 13% mark.

Now I'm doing bottle tec and making sure the corners are tucked nicely pressing 3.5g of flower at a time as I've got the kp1 press, I'm using a 4 ton press with dual heated plates. Pressing at 195°f, 1min minimal pressure heat soak, 30 seconds half press, 2 minutes 30 full press.

I get a decent coloured roisin from this method shown above (ik all strains /batches of flower perform diffently and things should be adjusted accordingly) but the issue I'm having is yield! Am I not pressing for long enough? Have I got the complete wrong technique? Am I putting enough pressure on the bud (usually press until I physically can't anymore as its manual)

I usually press twice either at the same temp or 5-10° higher in temp for 2 and a half minutes

I've put the flower in a jars with a boveda in each and got some hydronetrmeres coming tomorrow alongside a hydrostone. Going to see if it's the bud itself that's the issue. 🙏

Any tips, guidance or help is EXTREMELY appreciated, I'm very new to this and want to get it right as soon as I can so that I don't waste too much fucking about 🤦

As the title states, just got into pressing my own flower and looking for any tips and tricks! I think the colour of the extract looks okay, maybe a little darker than what I'd like it to be but is this normal? Tastes quite nice in a banger, but has a very slightly burnt taste to it?

Pressed orange cream at 200f for 120 seconds. 3.5,g in, 0.54 out using a 90u micron bag

Now I didn't use any sort of technique when applying pressure, I just placed between the plates, squishes down as much as I could and the left it for 2 mins before releasing. I used the bottle tech technique which seemed to work well in regards of yield.

Just want to know is there a knack to adding the pressure? (I've seen some say put the bag in and let it bake for a few minutes before adding pressure, then slowly adding pressure every 20 seconds or so until full squish).

Any advice is very much appreciated 🙏
