Complete car novice – Audi vs BYD or perhaps another alternative?
I’m after a bit of advice as I’m completely stuck on what car to go for.
The ones I keep coming back to are:
Audi Q3
Audi Q5
BYD Seal U DM-i
I also quite like the Jaecoo 7, but if I’m honest I’m still not 100% sold on the Chinese brands. They seem to give you loads for the money, but I don’t know how they’ll be long term.
My only real non-negotiables are:
Not fully electric (hybrid is fine)
A sunroof (so it’d have to be a Vorsprung if I went Audi)
A nice interior! This is why I was originally torn between Audi or Mercedes (feel like Merc is too expensive)
We’re a family of 2 adults and 2 young kids, so things like boot space, reliability, running costs, maintenance and overall engine performance are all important.
Any common issues, expensive repairs or things to look out for? Is there one that’s miles better than the others, or one you’d avoid?
Would love to hear some honest opinions because I genuinely can’t make my mind up it is a minefield!
