Current 990v4s running big ?

Does anyone else feel that the v4s currently available on the NB website seem a little larger than usual ? I've had at least 5 pairs of v4s, and they always have fit perfectly. The pair I ordered recently feel loose, and even slip a tiny bit in the back. Perhaps I'll forget about it once they wear in a little and are less stiff. But I don't want to forfeit my option to return. I would try another pair but I noticed a few reviews on the website where people were saying the same thing. So I'm thinking it may not be just this particular pair.

Worth trying to restore these SSB Gretsch ?

Came upon this Gretsch stop sign era kit and wondering what the path to recovery looks like? Must be a fusion/rock set -they're 24x14, 14x10, 14x10, 16x16. Wish they were different sizes but am still curious to see what sound and playing I can get out of them.

Cosmetically they're really rough, but it seems like the shells aren't too bad ? The bass drum has suffered the worst, but the edges on the toms might be okay. I don't really know though so I would love any opinions. All I can say is that running my finger around the edges, the toms are smooth. The hoops won't be cheap to replace, but I'm willing to invest if they'll sound like they should.

Can all Rogers kits sound this good ?

I'm looking at buying a Big R transition era kit, and hoping it sounds like the one in this video. The kit for sale appears to be mid 70s, probably '75? Rack toms have a Big R badge, but the bass drum has Script, and does not have the insanely thick spurs. The shells inside, are the granite/speckly grey and the edges, from what I can tell, look like 5 ply. 22, 12,13,16 set. My question is, how likely is it that the kit for sale can, or will sound like the one in this video? I've read some people say that the shells are the same, but would love any help or thoughts.
