Question to fellow Wedding DJs
I recently upgraded my audio system to the Tascam DR40XP.
I'm new to the ecosystem but I have plenty of cables and want to be sure I have the basics covered for a majority of DJs.
I'm planning on using the DR40XP to record songs/speeches from the mixer itself. Do I need to plug both L and R XLR into the tascam, into the L AND R XLR master output on the DJ stand? Is the XLR output plug on the DJ stand typically male or female? Is the DJ typically playing in mono or stereo (I always assume stereo)?
I just want to be sure I'm fully prepared when time comes so I can understand the audio recording system as I learn.
Thanks!
Recorded Audio sounds echoey and Vocals are faint
I recently got the new Tascam dr40xp that has 32bit float recording. I've been messing with the settings for a while and doing some testing. The audio overall sounds tinny/echoey and its not capturing all the vocals on soundtracks.
Both L/R XLR are plugged into my 3.5mm adapter. Settings have been switched between stereo and mono with Line settings switch on. No active effects are on.
I'm not sure what I have wrong. Perhaps its the 3.5mm or if its being recorded on a A1 128GB sandisk microSD?
any help would be great.
