SpaceX announces 800 MHz spectrum telecom purchase on eve of 120 day IPO investors unlock

Surprised this isn’t being talked about more. Seems this was a very calculated time to announce this spectrum purchase. IPO investors likely will benefit from the headline as many 120 day locked investors, insiders, and employees will benefit able to sell their SpaceX shares starting tomorrow.

What is the incentive to be productive at your job?

I know dozens of engineers that strive to be average. I know even more that don’t care about anything other than putting in their hours for the week and clocking out. For the few that are over achievers, what’s your incentive? I’ve never really seen the guys that are really good/productive make any more money than those who suck at their job in this business.

Isn’t AI just monetized plagiarism?

Every time I use ai it seems it does not care about copyrighted or patented material. Is there a looming wave of lawsuits over the excessive amount of copyright infringement used for monetary gain by these ai companies?

Any recommendations for improving my sump pit/lid/pump setup

Ignore the effervescence in the corner, the water issues were recently dealt with. What I don’t know anything about is the sump pit /pump/lid. We have high radon which was recently mitigated however I am curious if there’s any recommendations anyone has to improve this setup.

Reminder

This is your reminder to turn down your job offer $50k lower than what you are worth. Many geologist take the first offer they get because they “love geology” and “it’s not about the wages”. This has suppressed wages in our field for decades. Many positions require professional licensure and have a legal obligation you are held to with many years of field experience, advanced degrees, travel, and demanding condition. Don’t sell yourself and your colleagues short.

The pay ranges I’ve seen in the last year for full time licensed geology professionals in my area (medium sized city in the northeast) currently ranges from $45,000 to $140,000 for individuals with 8-10 years experience. No one should be accepting that low end side of things if you are a qualified professionally licensed graduate with extensive experience.

Never liked sheaths very much. Got a new one with my arc obsidian and put it on last week for some home projects. Wife told me about 5 times it “looks sexy”. Had it on everyday since and starting to enjoy it.

If you did the workload of 3-4 of your coworkers everyday (some who have more years experience than you), how much more should you make in comparison to your coworkers? Talking percentages %.
