Just a baseball dad trying to up my game

Hey all! I joined the this sub somewhat recently and I’m awed by the quality of most of the shots in here! I take a lot of pics of my son’s baseball teams, so I’ve included a few shots that I’ve liked over the past couple of years. Though I work in communications and I’m not a stranger to photography, I’m certainly nowhere near the level I see in this sub so I’d like to ask for feedback on any aspects of these shots and any advice on what I might do to get better. These are shot with a Canon EOS R8 and a Canon 100-400 lens. Thanks for checking them out!

How detrimental is it to swing a bat that might be slightly short according to the sizing charts?

My kid is 5’11” 195 and swings a 32 drop 5, but the charts are saying he should be swinging at least a 33 at this point. He handles the current bat just fine, occasionally swings a 32-inch BBCOR for practice, and one of his coaches said he may want to move up to a longer bat.

Here is the thing. He is only 11, and I don’t know if BBCOR is the right move right now. USSSA bats are extremely hard to find bigger than 32. His bat of choice, the Supra, nor none of the other Louisville or Rawlings/Easton USSSA bats are even available in 33.

So my choices are:

  1. Stick with the the 32 drop 5 Supra, which he is doing well with, but I’m not sure if he’s sacrificing some plate coverage.

  2. Find a 33 drop 5 USSSA, which is limited to DeMarini and Marucci. (No Supra, Dub, Icon, Hype Fire etc).

  3. Go to a 33-inch BBCOR which is potentially going to be a performance limiter in several ways (smaller barrel, deader material and a full 3 oz. heavier) but could be beneficial for longterm development.
