I had a final round interview about 2.5 weeks ago at GS. The interview went great, and it was directly with the VP of the team I'd be joining. I sent thank-you notes and followed up with HR, but it's been total radio silence.

I know other candidates who went through the general/mass-hiring process for this division heard back within 2 days. However, since I was pre-selected for this specific desk, I'm wondering if my timeline is just moving slower due to localized team approvals and the holiday week.

Does silence this far out mean a soft rejection, or is this normal for a niche team?
