Hi!👋🏻
We spent the last week of June in Puglia, and this region of Italy stole my heart.
We visited Ostuni, Monopoli, Polignano a Mare, and Bari. I’m already dreaming of going back.
We literally got home at dawn today, so I don’t have the energy to write the novel-length trip report this beautiful region deserves. 😅 Instead, I’m sharing some of my favorite photos from our trip.
If you’re planning a visit or have any questions about our itinerary, food, transportation, parking, beaches, or anything else, I’d be happy to answer!
1 extra tip if you’re staying in Monopoli without a car:🏖️
We spent our first night in Ostuni, but Monopoli was our base for the rest of the trip. (We had no car used only public transportation)
If you’re planning to visit the beaches around Monopoli (which i highly recommend), look into the Beach Bus Lines (Capitolo 1 and Capitolo 2). They run along the coastline and stop at pretty much all of the beaches, all the way to Capitolo, including the water park.
If you tell the driver which beach you’re heading to, they’ll make sure to stop there and will even let you know when it’s your stop. Everyone we met was incredibly kind and helpful.
Public transportation was honestly one of the biggest positive surprises of our trip. The buses were reliable, and even the trains we took for day trips were almost perfectly on time.
If anyone is interested, I can also share the Beach Bus timetable, I took a photo of it on the bus 🚌
