How do you do flight training radio practice outside the cockpit?
I know the real thing is different, but students need reps before they are overloaded in the airplane. What out-of-airplane practice actually helps?

Eight months in and hills are still hard. Not impossible anymore, not the same sufferfest they were at the beginning, but definitely not the gentle background feature everyone implied they would eventually become. I can get up them now without stopping which is progress. But the idea that one day I will float up a climb without effort feels like something experienced cyclists say to new ones to keep them from quitting. Still showing up though.
