[N/A] Really want a Global Mobility job. I have 10+ years of experience in a related field. How to make the pivot?
Hi everyone!
I have 10+ years of experience in outbound US emigration (think: US citizens seeking dual citizenship/citizenship by investment/foreign residency). I deal with consulates and visas and global mobility processes daily--just in the other direction. I want to learn about the inbound US market and get a job in US-inbound Global Mobility. I deal with 10+ jurisdictions daily, handle the entire mobility lifecycle for the client, wrangle all different stakeholders and outside counsel in the process, etc. Lots of moving parts and regulations and changes to keep abreast of. I love helping people move! And I know, if given a brief training period, I could do the US-inbound work.
But so far, I haven't had any bites on my resume. I feel maybe I am not explaining the pivot or selling my skills or adaptability well. So, I'm wondering: should I get some sort of certification or education in US inbound immigration or global mobility? I've seen a bunch of very interesting certificate courses, but maybe this is overkill. Any ideas?
PS - I have experience living abroad, I am a dual citizen, I speak four languages, and I'm very adaptable! Any help is appreciated.
