Confused by Computer Architecture in Curricular Analysis for Master in Informatics
Hey everyone! I'm an international applicant for the Master in Informatics. I'm currently filling out the Curricular Analysis and I'm quite confused by the Computer Architecture requirements.
I noticed a mismatch. The application portal links to a module description where IN0005 (Lab) is 8 ECTS and is focused on topics like circuit design with VHDL and Intel/AMD Assembly. However, when checking the current Bachelor's curriculum on TUMonline, IN0005 is listed as only 5 ECTS and focuses on modern topics like C/C++, SystemC, and RISC-V architecture.
Can anyone confirm if it is indeed correct that we have to use the version of the module on circuit design with VHDL and Intel/AMD Assembly as the reference for the matching?
In that case, my bachelor's degree has a comprehensive Computer Architecture course (covering RISC-V, Assembly, C, memory hierarchy), but it's only 6 ECTS in total. I have some other courses that can cover some parts of IN0004 and IN0005 but if the portal strictly expects 16 ECTS based on the old VHDL version, it seems difficult for me to match it perfectly.
Did any international student successfully match this section without losing too many points? Did you split other low-level courses (like Operating Systems) to fill the gap for the lab part?
Thank you in advance
