What AI tool or software has actually earned a permanent place in your workflow?

I’ve tried enough tools at this point that I’m starting to think the better question isn’t what’s “best,” but what actually sticks.

What’s one AI tool or piece of software that has become genuinely valuable enough that you wouldn’t want to go back to doing the job without it?

Not looking for a giant list of tools. I’m more interested in what it actually does for you.

What were you doing before you started using it? Does it save you meaningful time, replace another expense, make you money, or just remove something you hate doing?

And if you stopped paying for it tomorrow, what would you actually miss?

What makes a specialized AI tool worth paying for when you already have ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini?

I've been looking more closely at my AI subscriptions and realized that the difficult question isn't which general AI is best.

It's deciding when a specialized AI tool is actually worth adding.

There are tools for writing, research, prompt improvement, automation, images, video, SEO, and dozens of other tasks. Some genuinely do a particular job better. Others seem to package a workflow around something a general-purpose AI can already do.

My current rule is: before paying for another AI tool, I want to be able to explain what it does better or faster than the tools I already have.

For those of you who pay for specialized AI tools in addition to a general assistant: what has actually justified the extra subscription?

Better results? Time saved? Easier workflow? Reliability? Something else?

And have you bought any specialized AI tools that you eventually realized you didn't really need?
