Got a full time job at a gas station, stayed for a shift and a half and walked out day 2 - Did I dodge a bullet here?

I got offered a full time position at a gas station a little ways out of town. It was the first offer I got after 15+ interviews and I decided to take it, though it wasn't ideal since I was 13+ miles out.

Told them I was relatively flexible with shifts but was concerned about 6am starts as I would have to pay £30+ for an Uber to get in per shift as well as a small 4 hour commitment, was told I had no say in availability. Second shift in and I'm casually talking about the potential of moving over to the cafe area of the store some time in the future so I could pick up some more skills, get told to go home and come back for a meeting another day.

I ask the manager what was going on as this was pretty out of nowhere, she goes ballistic and starts screaming at me about how I was "unacceptable" for considering a transfer (which was stated as something I could do in the interview), how I was late to one of my shifts (which wasn't even my fault) and a bunch of other small things.

Walked out, handed my work uniform in and told them I wasn't coming back. I'm kinda bummed because I'd been looking for full time and I was genuinely really good at the job, but I since got a better offer elsewhere with a manager who seems like a genuinely nice person and the location is way easier for me to commute to.

I think I dodged a bullet, but I want to know what you guys think.
