News regarding the Solarballs Community Tierlists.
So, for the next two days, my routine is gonna be really full. I usually make these posts first thing in the morning where I am, and since I’m gonna be spending 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM out of the house both days, it’s gonna be a little hard to make these posts for those two days. The options are: 1. With the little time I have in the morning, I make a post. This is what I’m gonna try to do. 2. I make a post after 12:30 PM when I get back, or 3. No posts at all for both days and the posts will resume after the two day absence. I want to get your opinions on what option is best for both me and you. See you (hopefully) tomorrow!

Little rant about Solarballs’ huge problem
This has been one of Solarballs’ problems for years, and it’s been getting way worse as Solarballs continues doing it. The problem all boils down to one word. Misinformation. Solarballs, and by extension, a lot of our fandom, has a lot of misinformation being spread. Solarballs has two million subscribers. That’s a big platform. Solarballs is super good as a character show, but as an educational one? Not really. While some facts are done good like the moon drifting away and the true scale, a lot aren’t. I’ll list my main points below.
True Colour: What is the problem with making celestial bodies in their true colour? Almost every major celestial body is off colour! Sun is white, Mercury is gray, Venus is white, Earth is a greyer hue, Mars is fairly close but should be darker, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are all way too saturated, must I go on? Solarballs literally changed the assets already but kept these issues.
Venus having oceans: This one just isn’t true. At most Venus had nothing but temperate conditions for a small period of time before it became hell. In fact, the original paper stating that Venus had oceans basically said”maybe”, Ans Solarballs took that as absolutely true when it just isn’t.
Grand Tack: The Grand Tack never even happened. And not only that, but Solarballs depicted it completely wrong. The actual Grand Tack Hypothesis says that Jupiter forms at 3.5 AU out, moves INWARDS to 1.5 AU before Saturn moves inwards and it and Jupiter enter a resonance and move out together. The show depicted it this way: Jupiter never moves inwards at all, and just randomly moves outwards. The Grand Tack was a super popular hypothesis in the astronomy community, I don’t know how they messed this up so bad.
Sizes: This is the most common one. Mars is almost always depicted as almost Earth’s size, sometimes Jupiter’ll be like a third the Sun’s size in one scene and way smaller another.
That’s my rant. Like I said, Solarballs is a good show, but these are my issues with misinformation lol.
