Ordering

Hey y’all so based on the Siren’s Eye, I noticed that my pastry case needed the metal wire rack with crumb catcher underneath. I thought I ordered both the wire rack and the crumb catcher but only received the crumb catcher (the green plate). Can someone tell me the name of the metal wire rack. It would be under small wares correct? I also don’t know what the top/cover of the whip cream bottle would be called in the MyDevice. Not the decorating tip, but the piece the decorating tip connects to. For some reason I have a million bottles but only three of the tops. (I inherited this Starbucks and its supplies after remodel, so have been working with what I got and hoping and praying that I’ve been ordering the right stuff.)

Also how long does it take for gift cards to arrive? Because I ordered more gift cards like at least two weeks ago, and have yet to receive any on the two pallets I’ve received so far. Don’t know what happened to all the gift cards during the remodel, I guess the former TL just let them run out until they shut down? Do the gift cards even arrive on the pallet?

Also, for any newly remodeled Tarbucks, did you guys ever get tables and chairs back? We had tables and chairs, but during the remodel the old ones got trashed and we never received new ones now that we’ve opened back up. Just curious because so many guests have asked/complained about the lack of chairs and tables, and honestly I also want them because our lobby is huge and just feels like a lot of wasted, empty space.

Thanks everyone!

Edit: where the hell do I find the pull to thaw sheet? I need to print them out so that my team and I can do accurate pulls for pastries and sandwiches. I scoured LS Star and Workbench but found nothing.

I Hate Backer Paper

Just need to vent because I was tasked today with putting out FUN101 backer paper after all our toy sets have already been completed and I’m going to lose my goddamn mind!!! Most of it we don’t have, and the rest of it they sent too much of!! Trying to put up backer paper with product and any fixtures in the way is annoying asf. Why did FUN101 have to be part of our remodel? 😩 and why couldn’t we get all our ISM and the correct ISM at once. I’ll never understand the way Target operates.

Is It Awful If…?

My ETL is awful. I’m two months into this Remodel TL position, with one week in training in Plano, and yesterday she threatened to pull me into the office with our SD. Apparently I’m not doing well and my communication and listening skills suck because “she can’t do my job for me anymore” and “she can’t do this anymore” and “hold my hand” like she ever has been s/

I don’t want to work with this woman anymore. She has made demeaning comments about the team and myself in front of us, and in front of store side TMs, and is always off running off to the boneyard to hang with the GC super.

I want to switch out of this role, mostly because trying to work with her has been impossible. I feel scared to come to work some days because of her attitude. It feels like I can’t win no matter what decisions I make as a leader. This is the short version because if I type everything out in detail, it will take me hours and I just don’t have time like that, nor the energy.

Is it awful of me to ask to switch to another open TL position that we have in our store? I’ve already spoken to my HR ETL and my SD about her attitude toward me. I feel like I’m drowning in her unreasonable expectations.

Just Wanted to Leave this Here

These are awful photos, but it’s the best I could find. The comparison!! 😭 Francis Lawrence is a genius. Sorry if this has been posted before. Their poses are the same, except Katniss is less withdrawn, and leaning in closer to Peeta in the second, whereas Peeta is sitting with the same steady pose he’s always had. “I just don’t want them to change me.” Masterpiece of a way to tie (literally and figuratively) all three movies together in a nice little bow.

I need Severe Help

I’m a dayside remodel TL. First TL position, first position of any type of leadership or management. I received one week of training - I did not learn the ins and outs of being a remodel TL, I learned how to do a salesplanner, a transition, a revision - and the two weeks in between mobilization and when I returned to my store from training, I did not learn much else, although I was supposed to be learning more from my ETL about my role, which did not happen. She was too busy on personal phone calls. I was asking her during my first two weeks back from my training when we would could sit down and start planning things out, as that was a suggestion on the TL Daily Routine List that she handed to me, but she kept putting it off. We were supposed to sit down and do the sequence together before mobilization, but it just never happened.

Now we are gearing up to enter sequence 3, and these past few weeks I have been struggling to come up with tasks for my TMs to do because I am still learning my role and I don’t have a full understanding of my TMs’ roles. My ETL pulled me in to the office yesterday and said she doesn’t see “any urgency” from me, but when I make decisions with urgency, they end up being the wrong decisions and she becomes livid and throws attitude to anyone standing near. The reason I am taking things slow is so that I do not make rash decisions, and to think things through, so that I don’t waste myself and my TMs’ times by giving them incorrect tasks to do, and thus creating more work for everyone. When I try to ask her what the plan is for the day, she gives me vague answers or says, “You have to figure that out. What happens when I take a comp day and I’m not here?” She’s constantly talking about how this position is all about pre-planning, but she has not provided any opportunity for that to happen. Every day I ask her if we can partner to think of a plan for the next day, and she says we’ll wait until we see what happens overnight.

I need tips, advice, anything!! PLEASE. I am freaking out!! What are some common tasks I can have my Fill the floor TMs doing when we can’t do any priority pulls or out of stock pulls for a POG that has been set, but not tied? What are some tasks I can give to my price change TMs when we are not tieing any POGs and just setting according to planogram?

How the fuck does pricing work for a remodel? I need a breakdown of that, because my price change TM and I are lost, and my ETL-R practically refuses to help. (FYI, price change is new to the both of us - my price change TM who didn’t receive any training in her role, and myself, who also did not receive training in that.)

I just need help brainstorming. I have a pretty good sense of the role my captains play, and what kind of tasks to be giving them, although not every single day tbh. My ETL refuses to offer guidance, and any ideas I do have, she shoots them down immediately and doesn’t offer any other ideas. She basically says to me, “Figure it out. They’re your team.” 🤨 That last sentence always leaves me puzzled, because ultimately my team is her team too ???

Today, I was balling my eyes out on the sales floor and had to walk away because I was so overwhelmed and stressed. My ETL instead of comforting me, looked at me and said, “You need to develop thick skin.” I was fucking livid.

When I tell you I have thought about finding a new job and quitting like almost ten times now, I am not exaggerating. The work environment she has created is toxic and hostile which is not a helpful place to be trying to learn a new position. Many of the TMs are noticing it, too, and are legitimately afraid to speak to her in fear that she will be pissed off at them. I’m certainly not perfect or some angel, but also, myself and my TMs are still (trying to) LEARN, and I don’t know what about that she is failing to understand.

I’m really lost. Please help me.

I’m a New TL and I Feel Like I’m Failing My Team

I was recently promoted to a TL position. No less, the remodel TL position. I have been in this position for like four weeks; three of which were still considered training/limbo weeks. This is my first management position in my entire career. I was sent for a week of training, in a store that was not in the middle of a remodel, and I learned how to set a couple sales planners, one revision, and one transition. I had a little bit of time with learning adjacencies. My ERTL-R is in a new position themselves, coming from a Plano and Inbound TL position from a different store.

Since I am still learning everything to do with this remodel, like PPAs, or POG audits (which I haven’t learned how to do because it was not a part of my training/learning) my team members will often come to me with questions that I often don’t know the answer to. I don’t want to give them the wrong info, so I say that sounds like a question for our ETL. Today, one of my TMs started asking my ETL a question, and then my ETL said in a mini outburst, “You guys can’t always be coming to me when you have questions. If I take a comp day, what’s going to happen? You guys are screwed.” Basically something along those lines, in front of two of our captains and another TL. I want to reiterate that not only did I not receive proper training, but my captains also haven’t either, three of them are from fulfillment and the front end, so we are all learning as we go, and learning together, and it’s taking a while because Target makes this shit complicated.

At one point in the day, my ETL was in a meeting, and I ended up having to check in with my TMs, try to answer their questions, come up with new tasks for them to do (we spent the first three days of this week starting our sets, so we ended up with seven end caps of clearance and three flats of bulky clearance all from ONE department) that my ETL wanted me to figure out where to put it all on the floor because our SD didn’t want us to salvage it out, figuring out who was going to take our door guard’s place because they were only scheduled from 6-12 when we need someone at the door until 3 PM, and deal with two trucks with deliveries for the Remodel that came. I had to unlock the receiving door and check the IDT report (which I’m still learning how to use) before I sent the truck drivers to the boneyard. And while all this was going on, my ETL had texted me asking for one of the fire doors to be opened so that one of our construction guys could come in and load demolition onto a forklift to bring to the dumpsters. He’d been waiting for 45 minutes because I was busy dealing with everything happening in the store that I forgot she had texted me. She referred to the fire door as door 8. I had no idea what that was, so I texted her back and she didn’t answer me, so I forgot all about it. Finally she calls me and says, “So and so has been waiting outside for 45 minutes. Can you please unlock door 8?” And I said, “What door is that?” And she got snippy with me and said, “The fire doors between TSC and TLO.” I HAD NO IDEA THAT WAS CALLED DOOR 8, how tf was I supposed to know that? Just call it the fire door and I’ll know what you mean…

Anyway, I finally get the fire doors open, and my ETL comes over and starts berating me saying, “You have to start getting better at making executive decisions. You have to be able to answer our team members’ questions. What happens if I’m not here because I take one of my comp days?” I agree I do have to get better at making decisions and delegating, but I just don’t have all the info I need stored in my brain to pass on to my TMs, and I don’t know where to find it. When I asked her where do I find the answers to my TMs questions when I don’t know off the top of my head, she didn’t say anything in response to me. I said, “I want to be able to answer my TMs questions, I don’t like not knowing how to answer their questions. I feel like I’m failing them, but I don’t have all the info they need to effectively do their jobs, and I don’t know where to find the info they need. And I don’t want to give them the wrong info, either.” Then they said, “Other leaders in the building can help you.” Which just isn’t true, because anything remodel related has nothing to do with them, so they wouldn’t know either.

I was so overwhelmed because I knew I wasn’t handling it all very well, and I was already beating myself up about it, so it just felt like she was piling on. I started crying because I was so stressed and upset that I still don’t know what I am supposed to be doing, but I feel like it’s not really my fault, and it’s not even my ETL’s fault either. I don’t think I was given proper tools and resources to do this job effectively (I blame my HR-ETL for that). Then she starts talking about how she understands we’re all new to this, and still learning, but making mistakes is a part of the learning process. Those same old empty platitudes. And then says, “I see potential in you.” Any time someone makes a mistake, it becomes a whole big problem for my ETL, and they have no sense of patience, so I’m just losing my mind. I’m getting extremely mixed signals from them, and I feel overwhelmed and exhausted.

Honestly, my ETL can be a really cool person, and I like them, but they’re stressing me out, in a way that I feel like I don’t get paid enough to be this stressed out for. I’m not a quitter, and I’m stubborn about finishing something I’ve started and following through on a commitment I’ve made to be a leader during this remodel, but I feel lost and don’t know what to do. I considered the idea of looking for a new job and putting in my two weeks today. I don’t know what happens if I ask to simply step down.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I’ve tried reading through all the remodel resources on workbench. I’ve scoured, clicked on link after link, opened tab after tab, but honestly I get easily distracted so sometimes when I’m trying to read something in TSC and people are chatting, all of the words I read are not actually being understood. Then I end up getting called by my ETL or a TM for help with something. I just feel hopeless and like an idiot.
