Pipe Cleaning Advice
My father passed away 10 years ago and was a regular smoker. I inherited this spoon pipe of his. As of late, I’ve started smoking more and thought it’d be a great way to reconnect with him by using his old pipe.
The thing is, I’ve never owned any glass so I don’t know if this build up is intentional or he just never bothered to clean it.
I’m particularly curious about the black build up around the rim. Is that really all from prior smoking? How many bowls would it take to create that? Or did he (or someone else) intentionally place that black buildup there for a reason?
On one hand, I want to clean it to have it working well. On the other hand, I don’t want to remove elements of this cherished piece that are markers of him. Does that make sense?
Thanks all
