I think there’s a very real possibility that Mando will be the first GL without a leader ability
I was looking over Carson Teva’s kit and the first line of the second paragraph of his leadership jumped out at me. “If there is an allied New Republic Galactic Legend…” which is a curious choice of words. I know that occasionally some of the other GLs aren’t used in the leader position depending on the enemy team but this is very situational and at this point is extremely rare. If this same line was in Teva’s unique I wouldn’t think anything about it but the fact that it’s in his leadership stood out to me. Both Ward and Grogu’s unique abilities also make reference to a New Republic GL ally as opposed to being specifically in the leader position. This is unusual because most other clauses that call out a GL call for them to be the leader.
All this is purely theoretical of course. It’s possible that this is meant to give the team some flexibility and that Mando will have a leader ability like all the other GLs. He is a GL so it would be odd if he doesn’t get one. Still, given the wording of the kits I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if he doesn’t.
