IMPORTANT: If you’re losing Ubisoft / EA / GOG access via Amazon Luna (June 2026)
IMPORTANT: If you’re losing Ubisoft / EA / GOG access via Amazon Luna (June 2026)
Context (READ FIRST)
Around June 10, 2026, Amazon Luna is removing support for:
Ubisoft-linked games
EA-linked games
GOG-linked games (including standalone installs and Galaxy library access)
“Bring Your Own Library” cloud streaming access
This affects users who used Luna as an access layer for games owned elsewhere.
CORE RULE (MOST IMPORTANT)
Luna is not ownership. It is only an access layer.
If Luna stops supporting a game:
You do NOT lose ownership
You DO lose Luna streaming access
Ownership remains with you at:
Ubisoft (Ubisoft Connect)
Electronic Arts (EA App)
GOG (both GOG Galaxy AND standalone offline installers downloaded from GOG.com)
STEP 1 — DO NOT TOUCH FILES FIRST
Before moving or reinstalling anything:
Open the original ownership platform:
Ubisoft Connect
EA App
GOG Galaxy OR GOG offline installer ecosystem
Check:
Owned games list
License status
Cloud save status (if applicable)
This confirms what you actually still own outside Luna.
STEP 2 — BACK UP SAVES FIRST (CRITICAL)
Before anything else:
Check cloud saves in each platform
Export local saves where available
Confirm sync status
Rule: Saves are more fragile than installs.
STEP 3 — REGAIN ACCESS THROUGH ORIGINAL SYSTEMS
Log into Ubisoft / EA / GOG directly
Re-sync or re-link accounts if required
Confirm games appear outside Luna
In many cases, access is restored immediately once re-authenticated.
STEP 4 — LOCAL INSTALL (ONLY IF NEEDED)
If installing locally:
Use original launcher OR GOG offline installer
Choose install location (new drive if needed)
Let system detect or install cleanly
Avoid manual file copying unless necessary
STEP 5 — UBISOFT FOLDER MOVE METHOD (IMPORTANT REAL-WORLD NOTE)
If relocating installs in Ubisoft Connect:
Supported method:
Move full game folder to new drive
Open Ubisoft Connect
Use Locate installed game
Point it to moved folder
CRITICAL STEP — ALWAYS VERIFY AFTER MOVE
After relocation:
ALWAYS run Verify Files / Repair Install
Why:
Confirms integrity
Rebuilds launcher indexing
Prevents future update/DLC/sync issues
Real-world behavior:
Ubisoft Connect detects moved folders instantly
Re-indexing takes seconds
No download required
Flow often looks like:
move → locate → instant recognition → verify → done
STEP 6 — COMMON MISTAKES
Avoid:
Moving folders before confirming ownership outside Luna
Deleting installs prematurely
Assuming cloud streaming equals backup
Skipping verification after relocation
FINAL MINDSET SHIFT
Old thinking:
“My game lives in Luna or a folder”
Correct model:
“My game exists as a license + installer ecosystem; local files are just cached data”
TL;DR
If affected:
Check Ubisoft / EA / GOG directly
Back up saves
Re-sync accounts outside Luna
Reinstall or relocate properly
Verify after any move
