Family Doctor Dental Questions

We get a lot of people who come in for dental concerns. Everyone thinks they have an abscess/infection, some have tried to pull their own teeth, decay, etc. Often times we just send an ABx and tell them to follow up with their dentist. We’ve had a rise lately though in people who can’t afford their groceries and rent, let alone medications and dental health. What things would you like to see doctors do differently?

Nexus Letter Questions

Please delete if not allowed. I’m a family doctor and not a vet, but my nurse was and I helped by writing a nexus letter for her and her spouse. I’ve had a few patients who are veterans ask for one and I would write them when asked. I’ve left that hospital system now and am thinking about adding nexus letters back in as part of my own smaller practice I’ve started. In the past, I would get all the medical information from the VA and review it over 1-2 weeks. I’d like to add in 1-2/week max now that I’m doing my own thing and am wondering if this is something there’s a need for? I appreciate all our veterans and their service so want to make it affordable too and am wondering what would be a fair price if this is something that’s needed.
