Advice

Hi guys,
Just looking for some advice here.
I can’t start this coming radiology program in 2027 fall, so I’m looking into possibly the next year. I’m also very interested in respiratory therapist. In the meantime I stay home with my kids and found a CCMA program that is only 18 weeks long and $3k.
I thought getting my CCMA cert and then working for a couple years as a CCMA in a doctors office or urgent care might look good on an application in the future for a program and also give me some good hands on patient experience.

What do you guys think?

Guidance

Hi all,

I’m honestly just looking for a little guidance here.
Backstory: I’m 28 with two kids and finished some college coursework when I was in college. I was majoring in sports science. Long story short it ended up not being the path for me 2 semesters in. I took a break from schooling and finished an EMT program in 2019, but had a hard time passing my board cert test. I ended up having my children as my husband was making good money. Now they’re about to enter into school and I am trying to find the path for me. I’ve always been super interested in the radiology and sonography fields. My biggest issue I’m having is 1: I can’t do day classes due to my kids being home 2: I’m super overwhelmed when hearing about how competitive it is, 3. I want to go into something where my credits can be used for other programs if I’m not able to get into a radiology program.

What is everyone’s take on the programs? Is there an associate degree in the healthcare field that’s also worth it?

I’ve done all the research I can. Now I just want to hear personal points of views and see what everyone thinks.

TIA
