Boyfriend may have bugged our home

My boyfriend has been showing obvious signs of alcoholism, and had been increasingly nasty and mentally abusive. When I chat with close friends about things that are happening, there is a quiet but obvious response from him directly related to said conversations. This keeps happening. This afternoon I was talking to a good friend saying that he may have to have a mortgage again if we separate. Tonight I saw him looking at houses on his cell phone. He quickly closed the app. This is one small example, but it’s become a bit terrifying. Not sure what to do? Ee co-own the house.

Re-Seeding Lawn

My boyfriend and I recently bought a house in the Mount Shasta region of California. We’ve ran into an issue with my female dog, leaving burn spots all over the lawn. I did a bunch of research and decided to order tall fescue seed and work it into the existing lawn. I plan to do some heavy raking and de-thatching, my question is should I rake in a light layer of compost before spreading the seed? There are large areas that are very thin. Also, my boyfriend likes to mow the grass very low. I feel he should let it grow a little taller to hold moisture. Surprisingly it does get quite hot here during the summer.
