Astoria
Hey so what kind of stuff could you actually run on Astoria? Like I have this old android game and im curious if it would run but idk...
If Astoria even works at all, I know basically nothing about it other then that it was scrapped

Now no hate to any of them and there are probably a few mistakes or missing information, BUT.
There seem to be... WAY too many stores being made..? Like off the top of my head there are: Octostore, Xenonstore, Neonstore, WSRP, Restore, AND the Live Store (although they host 8.1 universal apps i dont think theyll have an 8.1 store client so idk if that counts), AND probably more that I dont even know about.

Now again, no hate at all, but why are there so many? I love healthy competition and having alternatives, but if there are so many then that will create the problem of some stores having apps others dont, meaning that users would need to download 2 or 3 different app stores just to get all the apps they need :( (kinda like streaming services is a good comparison I think, just free)
And I get that some may be for 8.1 and others for 8.0, but even then it feels like a bit much..?

(I cant stress this enough: im not tryna be hateful, start arguments, or any sort of controversy or whatever, im just confused by it), it seems like there was nothing and now suddenly theres like 5 or more, its a bit jarring, in my eyes.

(Also I will admit im a tad paranoid that one of them might list my apps on their store without my permission, them thinking theyre just archiving them or something)
So i tried to follow a guide that got wireless Continuum on non USB-C devices, and i thought it worked cuz i got the continuum app installed, but...
When I select wireless and hit connect... literally nothing happens. It doesnt go to the connect screen, doesnt show an error, nothing.
Does anyone know why or any fixes?

Its the latest version of w10m im running
So (most) windows phones dont work in the USA due to the VoLTE stuff, but what about in Canada? Do they work up there? And if so for how much longer?
I'm working on a Windows 8.1 music app called T-Music, the Lite version is already finished but the full version isn't. The full version is planned to have near-full SoundCloud API and Wi-Fi radio streaming.
I haven't touched the code in months so i gotta update the playback code to the new endpoint, and DRASTICALLY fix the UI
but yeah, what do you all think?
(and yeah its gonna be customizable)
Edit: i also plan on rewriting the app from scratch due to some security and performance issues, plus the backend rn is a HUGE MESS
Those that have windows phones, what do you use them for? What do you WANT to be able to use them for?
Games, videos, music, developing, general, anything specific?
T-Notes Mobile v2 is now up on the live store, if anyone wants cloud sync between their windows phones and windows 8.1 devices :D
(Yep, windows phone 8.1, windows 10 mobile, and windows 10/11, but ill focus on the phone versions cuz this is the windows phone subreddit)
Its part of a new thing im doing called T-Cloud, where you can access TRC App data from all your devices, kinda like the old microsoft Office stuff, but free and still supported :3
(I THINK microsoft killed office for windows phone 8.1... I cant check if it still works as i dont have a subscription, but at least T-Cloud is still in development, whereas the wp8.1 and w10m office apps arent)
I hope some of you get some use out of it, ill expand T-Cloud to more of my apps over time, so yalls Windows Phones can still be useful
(And yes you need a T-Cloud account, sorry about that one... I may try to find a way to make a more restricted public API so other windows phone devs can use T-Cloud in their own apps, but im not sure yet. As of now you can just create an account in the app with a username and password)
