Update on Tax Fraud Memes and Low-Effort Joke Posts
Nearly two weeks ago, we held a poll asking whether Yoshi Commits Tax Fraud memes should be allowed on the subreddit. The majority of voters chose to approve the meme, so we will soon be updating Rule 7 to allow tax fraud references and similar low-effort joke posts.
However, these posts will only be allowed inside the dedicated MLEM (Monthly Low Effort Memes) Megathread, which will be available from July 1st, 2026.
The current rules will remain in effect until the megathread goes live, and posts of this type are still subject to deletion if they are submitted before then.
We understand the concerns about the subreddit being flooded with repetitive memes, and we absolutely agree that we do not want that to happen. This change does not mean the subreddit will become a free-for-all. Spammy, excessive, disruptive, or rule-breaking posts/comments will continue to be removed, and further action is likely to be taken.
To help keep the subreddit tidy while still allowing people to enjoy these memes, please keep them inside the MLEM Megathread once it becomes available.
Thank you to everyone who voted and shared their thoughts!
