“That kind of testing is now underway at Valisure Labs in New Haven, Connecticut, where researchers independently analyze finished pharmaceutical products for quality problems.
The laboratory tests medications ranging from antibiotics and antidepressants to blood pressure drugs, assigning quality ratings of red, yellow or green.
Its latest findings on 13 essential medications were recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine.
According to the lab’s analysis, one-quarter of the drugs tested scored either yellow or red.”
