Do people actually know how much ISA allowance they’ve used across different accounts? (UK)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to understand my own finances better and I’ve realised something quite confusing about the UK ISA system.

I currently have money spread across:

-Cash savings account (Chip)
-Stocks & Shares ISA (Trading 212)
-Lifetime ISA (just opened, not funded yet)
-Thinking about other ISA providers in future

While trying to track everything, I realised there is:
-no single place that shows how much of the £20,000 ISA allowance you’ve actually used across all providers in real time
-no easy way to see Cash ISA + Stocks & Shares ISA + LISA usage together
-most apps only show their own ISA, not your total usage

For example:

Trading 212 shows my ISA allowance remaining, but it doesn’t include other accounts.

My questions are:
-Do people actually track their ISA usage across different providers?
-Or do most people just ignore it and check at the end of the tax year?
-Have you ever accidentally over/under contributed without realising?

Would a simple tool that shows “ISA used vs remaining allowance” across all accounts actually be useful, or am I overthinking this?

I’m not trying to promote anything — I’m just trying to understand how other people manage this because it feels surprisingly unclear in the UK system.

Thanks in advance 🙂

P.S. Any screen shots or info about how people keep an eye on this would be amazing !

ASYE

Hey Everyone,

Slowly losing my mind with search for an ASYE. I graduated September 3rd 2025 (did the graduation ceremony 2026 as had to re-take an assessment) with my social work degree. I have registered to Social Work England yesterday and have a reference number.

I live in Brighton and Hove and unfortunately don’t drive so commute is smaller for me.

I am actively searching for an ASYE role but can’t seem to find one at all. I don’t think statutory is for me really as I did it on my last placement (Children Team) and I struggled with the high turn over rate and not a lot of relationship-building work which when I think of social work that’s what I want to do.

All job roles posted at the minute are wanting experience (three years) and I only have my placement experience. When I search with key words like NQSW or ASYE nothing comes up 😭

I have started sending emails to charities and independent fostering agency’s near me enquiring about ASYE and waiting to hear back and I’ve also emailed my university tutor for advice.

I am working at Greggs at the minute just to live but have sent off some applications to children’s residential home in hove (lioncaregroup), outreach worker roles, BHT Sussex and AMAZE. Just so I can do something in the social sector in the meantime!

I just don’t want the three years studying to be for nothing if all I get are support roles can I realistically do those full time with the small amount of money I would earn?

I want to help people but I guess I’m just struggling at the minute. Is an ASYE a really big deal, what if I don’t get one in time as I know there is a finding time limit !

Just some advice from people who are going through the same things or have been. I know social work is a very broad role but I can’t seem to find anything that I would like to do.

P.S. my first plan before all of this worry was to travel around SEA for the year but everyone is telling me that’s the wrong plan which is why I’m asking for advice and doing all of these things

Advice Needed

I’m based in Brighton and Hove.
I finished my social work degree on 3rd September 2025 (Graduated February 2026 due to having re-do an assessment)and I have not managed to get a ASYE role or find one really posted.

I am working at Greggs at the minute as I was thinking of going travelling next year 2027 to SEA which has always been my dream. I’m hoping to go for about a year maybe?

I don’t know how that would impact my future career choices though ?

I’m a bit anxiety ridden as going travelling is one of my big goals but not sure if social work roles will not accept me as I haven’t done an ASYE or go into a social work roles after graduation.

I have been applying to social care roles like children’s support worker, therapeutic childcare worker, benefits advice project worker, welfare support officer, residential support worker but haven’t heard anything back yet.

What do you think is there something I should be doing or have I don’t the wrong thing ?

Any advice or information will be really beneficial to me 🙏🏽
