Just started Dashing again after 5 years…
I dashed during COVID and things were actually really good, I got through COVID all through dashing. I ended up opening up my own restaurant after 2 years of dashing and recently started dashing again just to see how it is and WHOA! The pay has drastically dropped.
Correct me if I’m wrong but back in the day, orders would show the pay before tip was added. Now it shows total pay with tip included and it’s been lower than what it used to be BEFORE tip! What happened?! Did DoorDash drop their pay to be absolutely minimal?
Also these “pizza” orders are horrendous. I guess they are being ordered directly through the pizza stores? Why don’t people tip at all for these orders or are the stores keeping the extra the customers pay when they order? So many of these pizza orders customers say when I get there “is it too late to tip?” and I can’t tell if they just do that to avoid tipping or if this new pizza partnership DD has is just the worst for dashers cuz I haven’t received a single order where a customer tipped in app nor when I deliver and that’s just so odd to me given that pizza is the one food delivery where it’s universally known, you tip the driver.
